Happy New Year from The V-Twin Blog!

2017 was an interesting year for the American v-twin motorcycle industry, we witnessed Polaris shutting down Victory Motorcycle, the return of Indian Motorcycle to American flat track, Harley-Davidson really embracing new technology and engineering with the release of its 2018 model line. We also saw the embrace of technology the motorcycle industry both good and bad with self-balancing motorcycles, electric motorcycles becoming mainstream and Apple CarPlay on motorcycles (Honda Gold-wing).

The good news is I believe we are seeing a shift in the V-Twin industry. Getting younger riders on motorcycles with the release of lower priced bikes like the Harley-Davidson Street 750 and the Indian Scout 60 can create a new core of riders for the future. Also, things like Harley-Davidson’s Riding Academy New Rider Course and the newfound interest in American Flat Track should help increase interest in the sport/lifestyle.

All this really has me excited to see what is on the horizon for 2018.

Stay tuned to the V-Twin Blog for all the news and also starting in spring 2018 we will be doing more hands-on gear reviews and I’m excited to announce “Life behind bars” reviews of both Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle 2018 models!
