HARLEY-DAVIDSON SCREAMIN’ EAGLE FACTORY TEAM TO CONTEND KING OF THE BAGGERS SERIES

H-D Announces Contingency Program for Independent Bagger Teams

MILWAUKEE (April 8, 2021) – A new Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle® factory racing team will compete in MotoAmerica King of the Baggers, a road racing series held in conjunction with the 2021 MotoAmerica HONOS Superbike Series. The team is preparing a Harley-Davidson Road Glide® Special powered by a race-modified Screamin’ Eagle® Milwaukee-Eight 131 Performance Crate Engine for pro rider Kyle Wyman. In addition to its factory team effort, Harley-Davidson will offer a nearly $30,000 cash contingency program for qualified Harley-Davidson racers competing in the three-race King of the Baggers series.

King of the Baggers successfully debuted as a one-off MotoAmerica invitational exhibition event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca last October and, after an exciting race, received a positive reception by fans and racers. MotoAmerica will host a three-round King of the Baggers series in 2021 for race-prepared, American V-Twin touring motorcycles equipped with a fairing/windscreen and saddlebags. The series is open to all qualified AMA license holders, with championship points being tallied at each round and a National Champion crowned at season’s end.

“Competing in the King of the Baggers series gives Harley-Davidson an opportunity to showcase our Screamin’ Eagle performance products in the heat of competition,” said Jochen Zeitz, chairman, president, and CEO Harley-Davidson. “Nobody knows more about building Harley-Davidson performance than our Screamin’ Eagle engineers. Harley-Davidson created the first factory hot rod baggers, the Road Glide Special and Street Glide Special models, for riders craving performance and touring comfort.”

The Screamin’ Eagle Milwaukee-Eight 131 Performance Crate Engine is the most-powerful street-compliant performance engine offered by Harley-Davidson. Built from the bottom up in Milwaukee, this street-tuned, 131-cubic-inch (2147cc) Screamin’ Eagle crate engine delivers 131 ft-lb of torque to the rear wheel as soon as the throttle is cranked, and may be installed in 2017-later Harley-Davidson Touring models.

Veteran road racer Kyle Wyman, 31 from Macedon, N.Y., formed Kyle Wyman Racing at the age of 21 to compete at the highest level of professional road racing in the United States. He started racing Harley-Davidson XR750s in flat track at the age of 15. Wyman was a contender and won six races in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson XR1200 series, he won the Daytona 200 in 2019 and placed seventh overall in the 2020 HONOS Superbike series, the premier MotoAmerica road racing class. Wyman is the son of Kim Wyman, owner of Harv’s Harley-Davidson in Macedon.

“I am very excited and honored to be the rider of the Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle Road Glide Special,” said Wyman. “To be a Factory rider for Harley-Davidson is something I’ve dreamed of since I was little, watching my hero Scott Parker win Grand National Championships on the Harley-Davidson XR750. I look forward to our first race at Road Atlanta and competing aboard this amazing machine.”

The MotoAmerica King of the Baggers series kicks off April 30-May 2 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, and continues June 11-13 at Road America Elkhart Lake, Wis., and July 9-11 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Calif.

The collection features iconic artwork collaborations from both Aerosmith and Harley-Davidson to create truly unique and one-of-a-kind designs. The offering will include 17 total styles and is made up of six distinct graphic capsules:

Burnout is inspired by the art of Aerosmith’s eponymous album and features vintage imagery to showcase and highlight the beginnings of these two renowned American brands.

Dream On is named for the breakout song on the band’s debut studio album, “Dream On”. It illustrates the enduring influence that both Aerosmith and Harley-Davidson have established worldwide.

Aero Force One is titled as an ode to the Aerosmith’s devoted fan base and was designed as an emblem showcasing the alliance of these two American powerhouse legends.

Toxic Twins is a graphic riff on the nickname for the band’s songwriting duo and a further reference to the Aerosmith and Harley-Davidson partnership. This design features both logos encased with snakes meant to represent the strength and spirit of both renowned brands.

Draw the Line takes the art from Aerosmith’s album of the same name and infuses the tire tread and exhaust pipes of a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle to represent the thunderous energy that ties Rock and Roll music and motorcycles together.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON KICKS OFF PAN AMERICA ADVENTURE MOTORCYCLE DEMO TOUR

MILWAUKEE (March 23, 2021) – Harley-Davidson recently unleashed its bold take on adventure touring with the all-new Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special motorcycles. The spirt of adventure touring is one of endless possibilities and unrestrained freedom. From its inception more than a century ago, when many roads were little more than dirt trails, Harley-Davidson has stood for adventure. Riders will soon be able to experience that freedom first-hand as Harley-Davidson is proud to announce the Harley-Davidson Pan America Motorcycle Demo Tour. The tour kicks off in April, and signups for H-D-hosted demos are now available here: PAN AMERICA DEMO REGISTRATION. Demo opportunities at other major adventure touring, overland events and rallies, signups will happen on location.

“I’ve had the opportunity to ride a Pan America motorcycle both on and off-road, and can’t wait for riders to experience the innovations and capabilities that our team has built into this fantastic adventure touring bike,” said Jochen Zeitz, chairman, president and CEO of Harley-Davidson. “Now riders can experience for themselves the first motorcycle of its kind to be designed and developed from the ground up in America.”

MY21 Pan America Riding Photography

The Pan America motorcycle introduces a revolution in technology, performance and accessibility with innovative Adaptive Ride Height and the all-new Revolution Max 1250 engine. Adaptive Ride Height is an industry-first motorcycle suspension system available on the Pan America 1250 Special that automatically transitions between a riding position when stopped, to an optimal ride height when the motorcycle is in motion. The lowered suspension at rest makes the motorcycle easier to mount and dismount, without sacrificing lean angles or ground clearance.

The Revolution Max 1250 engine is an all-new, clean sheet design, developed by the Harley-Davidson design and engineering teams. It is a 150hp, liquid-cooled 1,250cc-displacement V-Twin, the latest in the legendary powertrain lineage of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. To minimize overall motorcycle weight (Pan America 1250 534lb. wet/Pan America 1250 Special 559lb. wet), the Revolution Max engine is integrated into the vehicle as the central member of the chassis. The Revolution Max 1250 is designed to offer smooth, low-end torque delivery and low speed throttle control that is optimized for off-road riding.

The Harley-Davidson Pan America Motorcycle Demo Tour will include stops at adventure touring and overland events and rallies as well as H-D-hosted demo experiences at locations that allow for riders to experience the capabilities of the Pan America on and off-road. The Demo Tour starts off in Texas on April 16, 2021.

INDIAN MOTORCYCLE RACING TAKES BACK-TO-BACK WINS AT VOLUSIA HALF-MILE DOUBLEHEADER

INDIAN MOTORCYCLE RACING TAKES BACK-TO-BACK WINS AT
VOLUSIA HALF-MILE DOUBLEHEADER

Indian Motorcycle Privateer Brandon Robinson & Wrecking Crew Rider Jared Mees Win
Back-to-Back at Volusia Half-Mile I & II, Respectively

MINNEAPOLIS (March 16, 2021) – Indian Motorcycle Racing, presented by Progressive Motorcycle Insurance, jumped out to an early lead in the 2021 American Flat Track (AFT) SuperTwins standings, as Indian Motorcycle Privateer Brandon Robinson and Wrecking Crew Rider Jared Mees secure back-to-back wins at the Volusia Half-Mile doubleheader.

{“key”:”g8″}

Robinson’s season-opener win at Volusia Half-Mile I marked his third straight victory, dating back to the 2020 season finale doubleheader in Daytona. After winning his semi and getting a start on the front row in the Main, Robinson jumped out to an early lead but was battling with the second-place rider throughout the race. In his third season as an Indian Motorcycle privateer, the win marks Robinson’s fifth victory aboard the Indian FTR750.

“Despite being injured for the bulk of the 2020 season, Brandon finished the year with incredible momentum, so it was truly exciting to see him pick up right where he left off and reach the top of the box,” said Gary Gray, Vice President – Racing, Technology & Service for Indian Motorcycle. “Having swept the Volusia Half-Mile doubleheader last year, Jared entered round two with fierce determination to secure the win and garner the all-important points at a track he’s exceptionally comfortable and confident on.”

On Saturday, Mees won his semi and was able to return to the front row for the Main. Though, it was Wrecking Crew teammate and defending SuperTwins Champion Briar Bauman who captured the holeshot. After leading eight laps, Bauman was unable to hold on, as Mees made his pass and gained separation with every lap – ultimately cruising comfortably to his 54th career win. The victory also marked his 34th career win aboard the Indian FTR750, a race bike he won two Grand National Championships with in 2017 and 2018.

Following the doubleheader at Volusia Speedway Park, Mees sits atop the leaderboard with 42 points. Robinson is closely behind with 39 points, while Bauman’s fourth and second-place finishes keep him within striking distance with 35 total points.

The 2021 AFT season continues on May 1 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Atlanta Super TT. For more information on Indian Motorcycle Racing and the Indian Wrecking Crew, visit IndianMotorcycle.com or follow along on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.

Indian Motorcycle is back with the “Challenger Challenge, ” Indian Challenger vs. the Harley-Davidson Road Glide®

Today, Indian Motorcycle announced the return of its “Challenger Challenge,” a season-long demo tour and dealer activation that pits the Indian Challenger vs. the Harley-Davidson Road Glide® Special for the ultimate head-to-head comparison.

New for 2021, riders taking the Challenger Challenge will experience each bike with comparable performance upgrades, including:

Indian Challenger: Indian Motorcycle Stage 1 Oval Slip-On Mufflers, PowerPlus Stage 1 Air Intake & PowerPlus Stage 2 Performance Cams

Road Glide® Special: Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle® Street Cannon Performance Slip-On Mufflers, Screamin’ Eagle® Heavy Breather Extreme Air Cleaner, Screamin’ Eagle® Milwaukee-Eight Stage II – Power Kit & Screamin’ Eagle® Pro Street Tuner

Taking center stage of the 2021 Challenger Challenge is Indian Motorcycle’s PowerPlus Stage 2 Performance Cams – the same cams that helped power the S&S Indian Challenger to victory at the inaugural King of the Baggers race last October. Featuring best-in-class stock performance, the Indian Challenger gains 10% more horsepower with the Stage 2 upgrade kit – providing a new level of unmatched passing power and American bagger performance.

As you’ll see in this year’s Challenger Challenge promo video, Carey Hart and Big B took to Irwindale Drag Strip. This year, though, Big B supervised as Carey enlisted the support from King of the Baggers third-place finisher Frankie Garcia and the inaugural King of the Baggers Champion Tyler O’Hara. After three runs with each bike, the riders compared their personal best on the Challenger with their personal best on the Road Glide. No surprise, as King of the Bagger Champion, Tyler O’Hara, recorded the fastest times with both the Challenger and Road Glide® – registering 7.52 seconds aboard the Challenger and 7.96 on the Road Glide®.

The 2021 Challenger Challenge will kick off at Daytona Bike Week starting Friday, March 12. Throughout the rally, Indian Motorcycle will strictly enforce CDC guidelines, including face coverings, social distancing, and regular cleaning and disinfecting of all bikes and common touch points. Riders in Daytona interested in taking the Challenger Challenge can visit the Speedway, every day during the rally from 9am-5pm.

Following Daytona, riders can take the Challenger Challenge at an Indian Motorcycle demo event or at a local dealership. For more information or a list of demo stops, please visit https://www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/challenger-challenge/ or call a local Indian Motorcycle dealer.
