As Easy as One, Two, Free: Twisted Road Is Giving Away Free Rides to Every Motorcycle Renter

The leading motorcycle rental company is making riding more affordable to everyone by giving away free days to its community.

CHICAGO, May 5, 2021, Twisted Road, the leading motorcycle rental community, announced the launch of their One, Two, Free program, which gives all riders one free day of riding after they’ve ridden twice. This recurring program allows riders to immediately turn in their day to take a free ride or accumulate these awards for a longer getaway.

“We continue to find ways to make riding more affordable,” said Austin Rothbard, founder and CEO of Twisted Road. “This program is simple. No fees, no membership, no limits, no promo codes.”

One, Two, Free

Although this benefit begins today, Twisted Road is giving all eligible prior riders one day towards their free day.

“We’ve made this as simple as we could. The free rides just appear in the rider’s accounts once the first two rides have been taken. It’s like getting a free cup of coffee after your 10th cup. Only it’s a free day of riding. And instead of buying 10 rides, you only need to ride twice.”

Twisted Road’s One, Two, Free program is the latest example of the platform’s notable offerings:

  • Twisted Road has more than 3,000 privately-owned motorcycles for rent all across the United States
  • Motorcycle owners earn money by renting out their personal bikes while these bikes would otherwise be sitting in the garage
  • Riders use Twisted Road while traveling, to try different motorcycles, or to test-ride before they buy
  • The rental platform boasts extensive variety, with vintage bikes that date back to 1947 as well as new innovative models such as Harley-Davidson’s electric motorcycle, the LiveWire
  • The company provides damage and liability insurance of up to $1M during all rentals.

“We strive to connect the motorcycle world: two wheels at a time, and I am extremely excited that we keep finding ways to bring the community together,” said Rothbard.

For more information on Twisted Road’s One, Two, Free Program, and to see all the bikes listed for rent, please visit https://www.twistedroad.com/one-two-free.

Kick-Off A Summer Of Safety In May With Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month

IRVINE, Calif., May 4, 2021, This May, Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month comes at a particularly crucial time. Traffic is returning to pre-pandemic levels, families are planning for summer road trips, and interest in motorcycling — for commuting and recreation — is seeing strong growth. In an effort to reach as many drivers and riders as possible, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation has teamed up with AAA to get the word about the importance of sharing the road with motorcyclists.

Top Tips

Experience the interactive Multichannel News Release here: https://www.multivu.com/players/English/8892251-motorcycle-safety-foundation-aaa-may-motorcycle-safety-awareness-month/

“We are all one community on the road, and we need to look out for one another,” said AAA spokesman Jeff Spring. “During the pandemic, many of us drove far less than in a typical year, and as we return to the road, our driving skills may be a little rusty. AAA encourages everyone on the road to keep their speeds down, cut out distractions, use their signals early and often, and double- even triple-check for motorcyclists when changing lanes.” And if you’ve been injured in a road accident, then you might want to contact an injury lawyer for legal help.

In 2020, sales were up 11.4 percent last year for new motorcycles and scooters, and in 2021, first quarter sales were very strong with a year-over-year increase of more than 37.2 percent for motorcycles and scooters. Many training facilities across the country coached more riders in 2020 than in 2019, even with capacity restrictions in place. The year-to-date demand for training in 2021 is far exceeding the demand for the same period in 2020 with some training providers experiencing decades-high demand levels, according to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. This means more new and returning riders will be on the road. Riders that have unfortunately been in an accident can contact an injury lawyer buffalo ny if they want to get compensation for their injuries.

“Safety is important every day we ride, and Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month is a great time to emphasize our safety messages to drivers and riders alike,” said Erik Pritchard, president and CEO of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. “As we look forward to peak riding season, we welcome the opportunity to kick off a summer of safety in May. And remember, for those looking to get into riding, your best first ride is with a Motorcycle Safety Foundation course, on the street or on the dirt.”

Harley-Davidson accelerates job postings in 2021, gears-up to increase ridership, finds GlobalData

Harley-Davidson has taken a multi-pronged strategy to boost ridership, develop its dealer network, and to build customer-dealer relationships. Job positions in January 2021 indicate the company is strengthening its dealer network by advising on ways to increase sales and also consulting with dealers on how to boost product development, finds GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

Ajay Thalluri, Business Fundamentals Analyst at GlobalData, says: “Since the appointment of Jochen Zeitz as the CEO in May 2020, Harley-Davidson has gone through a series of transformative changes. Job postings indicate the company’s strategy to grow ridership through new marketing initiatives and build brand desirability. Harley-Davidson looks to achieve more sales by bolstering demand for its products including parts, accessories and merchandise.”

After eliminating 700 jobs worldwide in July 2020, the American motorcycle company is back on a hiring spree. Harley-Davidson’s job postings are on the rise and since January 2021, the company has posted over 400 jobs. Harley-Davidson’s hiring in Q1 2021 has been the highest in over a year. Since January 2021, the company’s average monthly job postings have been over 100.

Harley-Davidson’s job postings in 2021 so far indicate a renewed focus on developed markets and emerging markets. With around 90% of total job postings concentrated in the US since January 2021, the company looks to be strengthening its presence in the North America region. It also looks to increase ridership and brand appeal through its 400 dealers in 15 developed markets.

Approximately 8% of job postings have been in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region since January 2021. For Japan, the company continues to develop on the performance of motorcycles in the +600cc market and aims to become a market leader in this category. In Singapore and other emerging markets covering Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, Harley-Davidson is increasing its customer experience programs and Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) programs.

Key jobs include director – new product portfolio; director, growth marketing; director, product portfolio – lifecycle planning & pricing; director – digital product management; director – brand media & social; and chief engineer – parts and accessories; and staff engineer advanced manufacturing. Jobs related to growing market penetration include director, dealer training & operations consulting; lead dealer development and manager – marketing.

Harley-Davidson is also taking the electric vehicle (EV) plunge after launching LiveWire, its first EV motorcycle. The company’s job postings have been consistent since January 2021 for its electric motorcycle division with job roles for optimizing battery and charger infrastructure, power electronics, and engineering design. In March 2021, the company also hired Chief Electric Vehicle Officer and looks to add more hires for its dedicated EV division.

Thalluri concludes: “Harley-Davidson’s recent hiring activity and the launch of Electra Glide and Pan America 1250 in April 2021, suggests the company is in line with its strategy to establish brand desirability and create interest among a new generation of riders.”

NEW HARLEY-DAVIDSON ICONS COLLECTION CELEBRATES AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE DESIGN

Icons Collection Debuts with Limited-Edition Electra Glide Revival Model

MILWAUKEE (April 26, 2021) – Harley-Davidson today announced its new Icons Collection, an annual program offering very limited-edition motorcycle models designed to elevate traditional forms and celebrate Americana, either by revisiting classic Harley-Davidson design themes or by exploring ideas that represent the future of motorcycle style.

The Icons Collection will present one or two models annually, with a single production run for each motorcycle model. Production of that model will never be resumed or repeated. Each Icons Collection motorcycle will be serialized, and the purchaser will receive a certificate of authenticity.

“With The Hardwire, we made a commitment to introduce a series of motorcycles that align with our strategy to increase desirability and to drive the legacy of Harley-Davidson,” said Jochen Zeitz, chairman, president and CEO Harley-Davidson. “With that in mind, I am proud to introduce our new limited production Icons Collection, a series of extraordinary adaptations of production motorcycles which look to our storied past and bright future.”

The First of a New Collection
The Harley-Davidson® Icons Collection will debut with the introduction of the Electra Glide® Revival model, a retro-classic motorcycle for the nostalgist who longs to ride a bike with style both distinctive and timeless. Global production of the Electra Glide Revival model will be limited to a one-time build of 1,500 serialized examples, scheduled to reach authorized Harley-Davidson dealers in late April, with an MSRP of $29,199.

The look of the Electra Glide Revival model is inspired by the 1969 Electra Glide, the first Harley-Davidson motorcycle available with an accessory “batwing” fairing. The fairing became an iconic – and often imitated – Harley-Davidson styling cue, its shape an instant on-the-road identifier of many Harley-Davidson models and the foundational design of the fairing featured on current models. In 1969, the accessory fairing and saddlebags were only offered in white molded fiberglass, and the Electra Glide Revival replicates that look with a Birch White painted finish. The period-inspired tank medallion and Electra Glide script on the front fender complete the look. The Electra Glide Revival will be offered in a single color scheme inspired by the original 1969 colorway: The two-tone fuel tank in Hi-Fi Blue and Black Denim bisected with a Birch White stripe, with Hi-Fi Blue paint on the fenders and side panels.

“We live in a very dynamic time, each of us experiencing constant change,” said Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson vice president of styling and design. “The Electra Glide Revival model is an oasis in this daily turbulence, a way to reconnect with the fundamental Harley-Davidson DNA that created Grand American Touring.”

Design highlights of the Electra Glide Revival model include a solo saddle with a black-and-white cover and a chrome rail, mounted over an adjustable coil spring and shock absorber, also a nod to Harley-Davidson FL models from the 1960s and a functional feature that adds rider comfort. Chrome steel laced wheels and wide whitewall tires add to the nostalgic look, as do brilliant chrome on front fender rails and saddlebag rails, front fender skirt, Ventilator air cleaner cover, fork covers, and auxiliary lights. Old school cool never looked so good.

Milwaukee Eight® 114
The Electra Glide Revival model is powered by a Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin engine which delivers inspiring performance and classic Harley-Davidson look-sound-feel.

Displacement: 114 cu in (1,868 cc)
Torque: 118 ft. lb. @ 3250 RPM
Four valve cylinder heads (two exhaust and two intake valves per head, eight total); increased airflow through the engine contributes to power output.
Dual spark plugs for more complete combustion of the air/fuel charge and maximized power and efficiency.
6-Speed Cruise Drive® transmission reduces engine RPM at highway speeds to enhance fuel economy and rider comfort.
Harley-Davidson Touring Model Features
The Electra Glide Revival offers classic style, but its design and technology is absolutely modern. The foundation of the Electra Glide Revival model is the single-spar Harley-Davidson Touring frame with a rigid backbone design to sustain the weight of luggage and to support current engine power. The entire chassis is designed for the long haul. A single knob hydraulically adjusts the pre-load of emulsion-technology rear shock absorbers for optimal ride and control. The 49mm forks with dual bending valve suspension technology deliver linear damping characteristics for a smooth ride.

The classic Bat Wing fairing features a tall clear windshield and a splitstream vent to help reduce rider head buffeting. Electronic cruise control holds a steady speed for comfort on long rides, while a halogen headlamp and incandescent auxiliary lamps provide outstanding illumination and maintain the nostalgic styling of the Revival model.

A Boom! Box GTS infotainment system with color touch screen powers two fairing-mount speakers and features advanced navigation and hand and voice commands (when paired with a compatible headset) plus Android Auto application and Apple CarPlay® software compatibility.

Also standard is the suite of Harley-Davidson RDRS Safety Enhancements, a collection of technology designed to match motorcycle performance to available traction during acceleration, deceleration and braking, including:

Cornering Enhanced Anti-Lock Brake System (C-ABS)
Cornering Enhanced Electronic Linked Braking (C-ELB)
Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System (C-TCS)
Drag-torque Slip Control System (DSCS)
Hill Hold Control (HHC)
