Preeminent Motorcycle Industry Celebrities Join 10th Annual Buffalo Chip® Biker Belles Celebration®

Some of the world’s most notable moto-celebrities join the Chip’s prestigious gathering of women on two wheels.

Sturgis, SD A number of famous female motorcycle mavens are gathering to celebrate the diversity of women in motorcycling while raising funds for worthy local charities at the 10th annual Biker Belles celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018. Among the prominent names scheduled to appear are moto-traveler and journalist Alisa Clickenger, inspirational speaker Leah Misch, 2018 Sturgis Museum Hall of Fame Inductees Valerie Thompson and Marilyn Stemp, Hall of Famer Gloria Struck, Candidate for US House of Representatives and current SD Secretary of State Shantel Krebs, Wild Gypsy Tour organizer and model Kelly Yazdi, “Drag Bike Girl” Elyse McKinnon, and bike builder and racer Savannah Rose. World speed record holders Laura Klock and Karlee Cobb will act as ride captains.

The moto-centric event is an opportunity for those who love motorcycling to connect with women who are shaping the industry, driving change and breaking long-held traditions.

THE BIKE SHOW AND “THE MORNING RIDE” KICKOFF

All women are invited to enter their bikes in the first Women and Wheels™ Bike Show, presented by the Wild Gypsy Tour, at the Buffalo Chip’s CrossRoads. Awards will be presented at the lunch. Ride captains Laura Klock and Karlee Cobb will lead the “The Morning Ride™” from the CrossRoads through the picturesque Black Hills to the Lodge at Deadwood.

 

“SHIFTING GEARS” AT THE LUNCH

Attendees will enjoy a pampering at the Comfort Zone by Team Diva and a catered lunch at the Lodge at Deadwood. Alisa Clickenger and Leah Misch are among the panelists who have agreed to address the changes women riders are experiencing during a discussion titled “Shifting Gears.” Valerie Thompson and Marilyn Stemp will also be presenting updates on their stories and Gloria Struck will be signing copies of her new book “Gloria – A Lifetime Motorcyclist.” Additional special guests Shantel Krebs, Kelly Yazdi, Elyse McKinnon, and Savannah Rose will be available to meet with attendees and share their success stories.

THE CHARITIES

One hundred percent of rider fees will benefit the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame and Helping with Horsepower, an organization that empowers and encourages women and girls who are at risk or victims of abuse.

11:00 a.m. – Registration opens at The Lodge at Deadwood for non-ride participants 

11:30 a.m. – “Comfort Zone” by Team Diva pampering, retail experience and silent auction

12:30 p.m. – “Shifting Gears” Symposium, featured speakers and catered lunch

1:45 p.m. – All participants gather for Biker Belles official group photo
